Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up before a project starts — platform choice, cost, timelines, and what we do and do not promise.

Choosing a platform

It depends on catalogue size, order volume, and integration needs. Adobe Commerce earns its complexity once you're managing thousands of SKUs, multiple sales channels, or B2B pricing rules that simpler platforms can't handle — we'll tell you honestly in discovery if a lighter platform fits better.

Adobe Commerce offers deeper backend customisation and is self-hosted/cloud-managed, giving more control over complex B2B logic and integrations like SAP. Shopify Plus trades some of that flexibility for faster time-to-market and lower maintenance overhead. We can walk through which fits your specific requirements.

Shopify Plus suits brands that want to launch and scale quickly with lower ongoing maintenance, since Shopify manages hosting, security, and core infrastructure. It's a strong fit if you don't need the deep backend customisation that Adobe Commerce allows.

WooCommerce scales further than most assume with the right architecture and hosting — many mid-sized retailers run on it comfortably. We'll flag during discovery if your catalogue size or complexity points toward Adobe Commerce or Shopify Plus instead.

Cost and engagement

WooCommerce is generally the most cost-effective of the three to build and host, though ongoing maintenance needs are higher than Shopify Plus since you own the hosting and security stack. We'll give you a clear cost comparison during discovery based on your requirements.

A standard B2C rebuild runs 3–5 months depending on integration complexity; B2B builds with custom quoting/pricing logic can run longer. We scope exact timelines during discovery.

Retainer-based maintenance covering security patching, performance monitoring, incremental feature development, and priority bug fixes, with defined SLA response times.

Search visibility is a compounding effort — meaningful shifts typically take three to six months of consistent execution, which is why we recommend engagements of at least six to twelve months.

Our experience

14 years — we've worked with the platform since its early versions through every major release since, which means we've already encountered and solved most of the performance, integration, and scaling issues a newer agency would still be discovering on your project.

Yes — this is one of our deepest areas of expertise. We've built extensive Magento-to-SAP integrations connecting Finance, Inventory, and Warehouse modules, so data flows accurately between your storefront and the enterprise systems running the rest of your business.

Beyond the storefront

A responsive website covers browsing and checkout, but apps add capabilities a browser can't — push notifications, offline access to key features, and materially faster repeat-purchase flows, which matter once you're focused on customer retention rather than just acquisition.

Loyalty CRM is specifically about structured retention mechanics — points, tiers, vouchers, and rewards. EC Intelligence covers the broader email marketing automation, on-site personalisation, and behavioural analytics layer. Many clients run both together, since loyalty data feeds directly into personalised campaigns.

Loyalty CRM is the underlying points/tiers/rewards structure; gamification is the layer of game mechanics — spin-to-win, challenges, collection sets — built on top of it to keep members actively engaged rather than just accumulating and redeeming points. Most clients run them together.

Traditional SEO optimises your site to rank in standard search engine results and drive clicks. GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) optimises your brand's presence so AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini actively recommend you in their generated answers. Both work together, not as replacements for each other.

No agency can honestly guarantee a specific ranking or AI mention, since both depend on algorithms outside anyone's direct control. We commit to rigorous, data-driven execution and transparent month-over-month tracking toward your visibility goals.
