Biography
A career built entirely inside e-commerce
Danny is a born entrepreneur, with a career built entirely inside e-commerce and digitalisation since before most Malaysian businesses had a website worth mentioning. In 1998, at the height of the dotcom boom, he dropped out of college to chase an idea: building Malaysia’s first online bookstore, at a time when the phrase “the Amazon of Malaysia” barely made sense to anyone outside the room. That first venture meant learning, from scratch, what it actually took to digitise a retail business in a market with no local playbook to follow — payment infrastructure, logistics, and consumer trust all had to be built at the same time as the storefront itself.
After finishing his degree, Danny joined E-net Malaysia in 2002, a subsidiary of E-net Korea and one of Korea’s leading e-commerce solution providers. There he spent years immersed in enterprise-grade e-commerce architecture at a point when Korea’s digital retail market was years ahead of Malaysia’s — experience he brought directly into how Malaysian businesses could digitalise their own operations. In 2007, he took that grounding and started SeenerGy Sdn Bhd as an e-commerce solutions provider, working closely with Hironori Kobayashi of Commerce21, Ltd to build e-commerce platforms for leading Japanese brands, including Wacoal and Mizuno — projects that demanded the kind of platform reliability and cross-border commerce thinking most local providers at the time simply weren’t equipped to deliver.
Five years later, Danny sold SeenerGy and partnered with Kobayashi-san to found Bridzia Sdn Bhd, built around a single conviction: that e-commerce platforms, mobile experiences, and digital retention systems needed to be understood as one connected discipline, not separate projects handled by separate vendors. Under his leadership, that idea has grown into Bridzia’s work today — building and maintaining the Adobe Commerce, mobile app, and loyalty CRM infrastructure behind some of Malaysia’s largest retail and F&B brands, and helping long-standing e-commerce operations continue evolving rather than stagnating once the initial build is done.
